A Temple Based Family Trip in Vietnam and Japan

Temples are an interesting place which denotes the rich architecture of the cultural heritage of a place. A temple is a structure that is reserved for religious purposes or activities. Like prayers rituals, and sacrifices. It might be a Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain temple. The form and functions of a temple are varying. In this article, we will be learning about the most visited temples that are in Vietnam and Japan respectively.



Vietnam

Chua Dau (Ha Bac)

This pagoda is in the Thang Thang district of Bac Ninh. The pagoda is almost 30 kilometers away from the main city of Hanoi. Chua Dau comprises of Phap Vu, Phap Van, Phap Loi and Phap Dien. It is the situated at the center of the historical and cultural sites of northern Bac Ninh. There are other cultural sites like the Si Nhiep temple, the Luy Lau ancient citadel, a system of pagodas, centre, villas, roads, markets, bricks, and pottery kilns. It was built on the 3rd-century old Buddhist centre. Dau pagoda was reconstructed by Mic Dinh Chi into its present form. It was built as a 3 storied building, Hoa Phong Tower that is 17 meter high.

Dau Pagoda festival is celebrated each year on 8th April by following the lunar calendar. This is the festival of the delta region and the northern area of Vietnam. If you are making your Vietnam family trip this year does not forget to mark this spot as a part of your trip. And it will be better if you go in the summer months so that you can make a visit there during the festival periods.

Japan

Kiyomizu-Dera Temple

The Kiyomizu-Dera temple was constructed in 778. The building did not use any nails when it was built. The temple informs that Kyoto was the older capital of Japan. The name of the temple means “clear water”. The Otowa Waterfall is around it. It is believed that if the visitors drink the water of the waterfall their wishes will be soon fulfilled.



The centre hall has a wooden stage that is large in size and covered with maple and cherry trees. The spring season is hence full of colours here. This place is largely visited by followers who have immense faith in the power of this temple. So, if you are thinking of spending a day or two of your luxury travel in Japan then this is probably the best decision you are making.

You will experience a peace of mind and find yourself refreshed when you visit a temple or pagoda (called by the Buddhists). Temples have an ambiance and peace that is generally rare to find in our busy life.
